What’s in a Name? Our Core Values

We chose a name that is meaningful, a name that will allow us to share our heart when we first share what our church is all about.

Why "Paradox"?

Paradox Community Church

Paradox means “Contrary to expectation, wonderful, remarkable, unexpected.” And the word paradoxa is used one time in the New Testament: Luke 5:26 it says, “Everyone was gripped with great wonder and awe. And they praised God saying, ‘We have seen amazing (paradoxa) things today.’”
We want for people to be amazed at God’s work in our presence and we want to be an unexpected and refreshing surprise for people who have negative preconceptions of Christianity and the church.

Why "Community Church"?

Community forms the backbone of our core values:

Consistency: Authentic relationships built on our shared passion for Jesus Christ and strengthened by frequent times together.

Openness: A place that is welcoming to those who are spiritually searching.

Mutuality: A meaningful partnership of personally generous people who are committed to each other and those who are far from God.

Mercy: The offer of Grace through evangelism and social responsibility.

Unity: Selfless acceptance of the diversity within the body and a commitment to resolving conflict and restoring harmony.

Nurturing: A safe place where you can admit your weakness and find hope.

Integrity: Lives of moral purity that naturally build trust and respect.

Truth: A commitment to biblically measured, honest words spoken in love.

Your Family: Acceptance within a body of people that care for you.
