Our Missions Philosophy:

When we started Paradox, we began with a dream. We knew that it was not enough to plant a church. We committed to starting a church planting movement. We believe that the Great Commission is not just a charge to a community, or a mission to a city, it is a global undertaking to change the world. So we wrote down our dream and began to pray that God would make it a reality. We said:

We dream of impacting culture internationally by launching multiple missional churches in cities around the world. We dream of providing a church home to 25,000 formerly unchurched people by launching new church plants.

Why this radical commitment to church planting? Because Churches in America are closing their doors. Barna Group researchers tell us that roughly 4,000 churches will close their doors this year and the number of unchurched people will continue to grow by 11 million per year. In a country that, at one time, was predominantly comprised of people of faith, there are now more than 75 million completely unchurched people in the United States and 10 million professing "born again" people who are churchless.

Beyond these pragmatics, there is also a biblical mandate to make disciples (Mattthew 28:19-20) and to equip leaders to reproduce themselves by teaching what they have come to know (2 Timothy 2:2). We believe that the church is God's program for changing the world in this era of history and we know that Christ has promised to build His church (Matthew 16:180. We desire to plant churches because we believe that it is the most effective way to evangelize the lost, equip the saints for the work of the ministry and reproduce leaders.

Planting Pregnant"

Researchers and Church health experts have told us that if a church does not start another church within its first three years of existence, it will likely never plant a church. We wanted church planting to be part of Paradox’s DNA from the start. So we not only committed to giving 10% of all of our internal giving toward church planting, we also prayed before ever starting Paradox that God would let us plant a church within our first three years of existence. To do this, we knew that we would have to “birth” a church plant that was already “pregnant” with leadership and ready to launch out another team.
